About this route

The straightforward 54-kilometre route takes you through towns and villages as well as hills, meadows, fields and forests located southeast of Rzeszów. You will follow asphalt roads, learning about the geography, nature and history of the area. The most interesting places along the route include the Marian Sanctuary in Czudec, the Church of St. Nicholas in Połomia and the Millennium Cross in Niechobrze Górne. The simplicity of the route will also ensure that you will certainly not get lost.

Practical advices

Although this route is not demanding, it is worth preparing for it properly, so that nothing surprises you at any point. Start with the most important thing, which is your helmet. A good helmet is essential for your safety. Take care also of proper lighting, both front and rear. In addition to bike lights, equip your bike with reflectors so that you are highly visible on the road.

 

What else is worth taking with you on a trip? Make sure to pack a sweatshirt or a rail jacket in your backpack, in case the weather changes. It is also a good idea to bring snacks to give you energy during the trip. Protein bars or energy mousses work well.

 

If you plan to take visit the attractions along the route, you will need to leave your bike behind in some places. To make sure it is still there after the tour, be sure to bring a bike safety device such as a U-Lock or any bicycle lock.

    Take the Stadium of Stal Rzeszów as your starting point and head from here to the Karpacki Bridge, and then along the cycle road to the Żwirownia reservoir. After passing it, you will enter Kwiatkowskiego Street, then Jana Pawła II Street and Senatorska Street. At the end of the road, turn right to reach Budziwojska Street. Turn right there to reach Lubenia. Before the cemetery, turn right and after 150 m turn left to take the second most important road in the village. At the market square, turn right and ascend the hill. There, take the direction to the left. At the valley, go straight ahead at the first junction and take a slight left at the second intersection. Keep to the main road.

    When you reach national road no. 19, turn right and turn left behind the church. You can stop at this small Gothic building of unplastered stone. It is a building from 1577, with defensive qualities, which was important in the past of the region, troubled by numerous raids and attacks by gangs of looters. Going straight ahead, you will come to a small copse of trees. Turn right behind it and follow its line. On your left, you pass the private nature reserves "Salomea" and " Tadeusz" in a short distance. You will change direction after 3.6 km, turning right into a narrow road and after another 200 m turning right into the forest. You will thus reach Przedmieście Czudeckie and cross the Wisłok River. You can stop at the ruins of the Czudec castle; the original defensive structure was built here as early as the 13th century, and the present ruins date back to the 15th century. Get to Rzeszowska Street in Czudec.

    A must-see in Czudec is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Czudec. It is a beautiful baroque temple with an ornate interior. Also charming is the small market square, where the architectural and urban layout of a small Galician town has been preserved. Notice the low-rise residential and commercial buildings along the front of the square. Leave the village along Grabieńskich Street. After a few kilometres, you will reach a roadside cross, past which turn left. After a kilometre, you will reach the Millennium Cross in Niechobrz Górny, which offers a panoramic view for 40 km. In Niechobrz, turn left at the school. Past the chapel of St Roch, you can rest in a shelter for tourists. When you reach Zgłobień, turn right and after 2 km turn right again. This will take you to Kielanówka. Pass under the flyover of the S19 expressway. Take Staroniwska street to the junction with Batalionów Chłopskich avenue. The route continues through Boya-Żeleńskiego avenue, Wincentego Pola streets towards Hetmańska street and the Stal Rzeszów stadium.
