About this route
The route is short, at just 17 km, and easy. Most of the way runs through forests stretching south of Rudnik nad Sanem. You should start at the market square in Rudnik nad Sanem. In the town centre, you will find several car parks, so finding a place to leave your car before the route will not be a major problem. The biggest attraction along the route is the Centre of Wicker Crafts. To get a good feel for what it has to offer, you should set aside about 2 hours for this. The whole route is well signposted, it follows popular cycling routes, like the green and blue trails of the East of Poland Cycling Trail Green Velo. Along the way you will find a good resting place in the woods, providing shade in case of heat and bright sunshine. Most of the route runs through wooded areas, away from car traffic. For this reason, the route is described as recreational and is also recommended for families with children.
Practical advices
Although this route is not demanding, it is worth preparing for it properly, so that nothing surprises you at any point. Start with the most important thing, which is your helmet. A good helmet is essential for your safety. Take care also of proper lighting, both front and rear. In addition to bike lights, equip your bike with reflectors so that you are highly visible on the road.
What else is worth taking with you on a trip? Make sure to pack a sweatshirt or a rail jacket in your backpack, in case the weather changes. It is also a good idea to bring snacks to give you energy during the trip. Protein bars or energy mousses work well.
If you plan to take visit the attractions along the route, you will need to leave your bike behind in some places. To make sure it is still there after the tour, be sure to bring a bike safety device such as a U-Lock or any bicycle lock.

The culture and tradition present in Rudnik nad Sanem are inextricably linked with wickerwork. The family that started wickerwork in this village is the Hompesch family. The Centre of Wicker Crafts was opened here in 2007, and throughout the town, there are numerous sculptures made using this unusual material. In Rudnik, you will also see the historic Church of the Holy Trinity and the 1920s building of the mill and power station (now the groats plant).
At the Centre of Wicker Crafts, you can visit archaeological, ethnographic and historical exhibitions. There are also workshops and weaving demonstrations where you can create your wicker masterpiece. Tickets to the museum cost: 3 PLN (reduced ticket) and 6 PLN (normal ticket). The route starts at the market square, where the Centre of Wicker Crafts, is located. From there, follow Grunwaldzka Street and then Kordecka Street, along the Rudna River. Following the signs of the green ATR Cycle Trail, you will pass the Rudnik nad Sanem Forestry Commission. The route continues through the forest. At a
crossroads, turn left. Then follow the yellow trail and the green Batalionów Chłopskich trail. Before the village of Chałupki, you will find a place to rest, a camping site with a shelter under a spreading, old oak tree.

After resting, cross the national road no. 77 and then turn left. For the rest of the way, follow the orange signs of the East of Poland Cycling Trail Green Velo. It will lead you to your destination. As you ride, you will pass a cemetery with graves of soldiers from World War I.

On the way back, you will see the figure of St John of Nepomuk, the historic mill, which is now used as a groats mill, providing services to local residents, and the Church of the Holy Trinity. Your ride ends at your starting point.
