Practical advices

When preparing for a route, be sure to check the weather forecast. This will allow you to take appropriate clothing and limit your luggage as much as possible. However, it is well known that the weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared if it gets worse. It is good practice to pack a thin rain jacket that does not take up much space.

Before starting the route, carefully analyse it on a map. Consider whether your skills and equipment are adequate for the level of difficulty of the route.

Download the accompanying .gpx file so that you always have your navigation at hand. To make sure your device doesn't fail you, also bring a power bank, charger or spare batteries. If the weather changes, you may find it useful to have a waterproof case for your electronic equipment.

Be sure to take drinks and food with you on long journeys; you never know when you will get hungry. Remember that a shop or restaurant may be located a long way away. We recommend that you stock up on water, isotonic drinks, energy bars and snacks. This will make sure you don't lose the motivation to continue riding.

The absolute basis for safety is, of course, a helmet. Also, prepare yourself technically. Make sure you have adequate lighting on your bike. Pack a repair kit. Spare inner tubes, a pump, a multitool, all of these things can come in handy in the event of a breakdown, which of course you don't want!

As in many of our other journeys, here too we will choose the market square as our starting point. The urban planning of this small Galician town is excellently preserved in Brzozów – the layout of the market square and the entire town centre is almost 600 years old, as it was designated during the town's chartering at the end of the 14th century. The square is not flat and slopes towards the north. Most of the townhouses were built in the 19th century and are maintained in Art Nouveau or Neoclassical styles. The town hall, currently housing a museum, is also Neoclassical, with a four-story clock tower and forced asymmetry of the main stairs. Exit the market square via Mickiewicza Street, and then go down Kościuszki Street, descending a gentle slope. At the junction near an elegant Neoclassical townhouse, stay on the right side. You will cross over the Stobnica river and reach a roundabout via Legionistów Street, where you should go straight, choosing the exit onto Bohaterów II Wojny Światowej Street. A few minutes past the town border, you will reach Przysietnica. It is a large and long village. You will pass a cemetery, School Complex No. 1, School Complex No. 2, and then enter a growing forest on a hill. Along the way, you will find a monument to the soldiers of the Home Army, and you will leave the forest at the fences of Izdebki.

To reach the village centre, you will need to climb up the serpentines, from which you will have an excellent view of the valley. Rest among the trees in the manor park. The manor is maintained in the Neoclassical style, located over the reservoir. Attention is drawn to the portico with 4 columns supporting a spacious balcony and the symmetrical construction of the whole. Near the stadium, having crossed a small bridge, turn left. You will pass by the Orlik pitch, a school, and a Neo-Gothic church. Continuing on, you will notice another school. The exit from the village will be marked by serpentines hidden in the forest. 3.5 kilometres past the serpentines, at a simple metal cross, turn sharply left. This will be the road to Golcowa, leading once again through the forest located on a hill, which you will traverse along the slope. It will be nearly 4 kilometres of narrow asphalt road. In Golcowa, turn right onto the main road, and after 700 metres turn sharply left, following the signpost to Blizne. Through a fairly steep hill, on an asphalt road among trees, you will ride into the next valley. Be careful on the descent, not to go too fast.

Turn onto regional road no. 886 to the left, and after 200 metres, turn right. Two sharp bends and you will cross the Stobnica. At the wooden cross at the intersection, choose the left side. You are riding through Stara Wieś near Brzozów. An interesting place is the Baroque basilica and the biblical garden on the other side of Stobnica. Continuing further south, you will come upon the intersection of Bema and Kościuszki Streets, near the elegant townhouse that you have already passed by. Turn right to climb back up to the market square.
