Practical advices

A route with a moderate level of difficulty will allow you to test your fitness. Remember that the terrain has a huge impact on how many kilometres you can cover. Trails on flat roads are less strenuous than those on hills or mountain roads.

Planning a group trip? Match the route to the fitness of the weakest participant.

A helmet and light clothing made of breathable materials will be essential for safety and comfort on the route. Other than that, only put on the essentials. Heavy luggage will make your ride more difficult. Also, think about what you will carry the necessary items in. We suggest a backpack or panniers for your bike.

Be prepared for possible breakdowns on the route. It is a good idea to carry the most important tools for a quick fix, such as inner tubes or patches, a pump or a multi-tool. Make sure you have enough water and food, as well as navigation equipment.

Is it looking like a warm and sunny day? Remember sunscreen and sunglasses. If you are planning sightseeing or other activities along the route, a bike lock will also be very useful. Before you leave, carefully examine your route for the trip. Consider whether your skills and equipment are adequate for the level of difficulty of the route.

Start

    Wola Niżna
    0 km
    Wola Niżna

Begin the journey in Wola Niżna. The starting point is the car park with a camping area on regional road 897. Turn left and head south after the descent into the village. This section takes you through a wide valley up the Jasiołka River. The road is initially asphalted, then turns to gravel. You will pass several individual houses along the way, including the "Gwara" Hunting Centre. Continue straight until you reach Wola Wyżna.

    Wola Wyżna
    5 km
    Wola Wyżna

The Rudawka Forester's Lodge and the establishment of a former State Agricultural Farm are located in this village. The foundations of an Orthodox church and the remains of a cemetery have also been preserved in the village. When you come across a barrier on the route, it hides a wild, completely abandoned section of the Jaśliska Landscape Park. You will pass through two villages: Rudawka Jaśliska and Jasiel.

  • 3
    Jasiel
    9.8 km
    Jasiel

On your way, you'll pass through a small former village near the Jasiołka River springs. The entire population was displaced to the USSR in 1945-1946, and the village of Jasiel ceased to exist. There is now an Orthodox church from 1825 as well as a place ideal for a quick stop here (at the monument to Border Protection Troops). The road then climbs to the springs of the Jasiołka River before turning sharply north. Follow the stream valley to Moszczaniec.

  • 4
    Moszczaniec
    18.2 km
    Moszczaniec

In this village, you will come across a former State Agricultural Farm building. Continue on regional road 897 and head west. After a few hundred meters, turn right onto a dirt road. Follow the signs for the green hiking trail. When the road turns to asphalt, turn right again and follow the signs of the black cycle trail, which leads to Polany Surowiczne.

  • 5
    Polany Surowiczne
    24.8 km
    Polany Surowiczne

The only traces of the village that once existed here are a renovated two-story bell tower, the foundations of an 18th-century wooden Orthodox church and a few tombstones in the former cemetery.

From the end of June until the end of September (and sometimes during Christmas breaks and long weekends), you can visit the "Chałupa Elektryków" hostel. This is a student base created in one of the abandoned buildings of a penitentiary.

When you reach this point on the route, you will be back on the asphalt. Take a left here. You will pass a stately shed, overcome the ascent and then head towards the starting point on regional road 897.

  • 6
    Wola Niżna
    28.3 km
    Wola Niżna

The loop through the Beskids wilderness concludes at the starting point. You can camp here if you stopped at the car park indicated at the beginning. The location is ideal for this.
