A simple route, but challenging due to the number and steepness of the ascents, it leads through forests and villages south of Strzyżów. You will visit villages where you can still see traces of the past, and explore monumental churches, dazzling in their decoration, there are also more modest ones. Practical advices

A route with a moderate level of difficulty will allow you to test your fitness. Remember that the terrain has a huge impact on how many kilometres you can cover. Trails on flat roads are less strenuous than those on hills or mountain roads.

Planning a group trip? Match the route to the fitness of the weakest participant.

A helmet and light clothing made of breathable materials will be essential for safety and comfort on the route. Other than that, only put on the essentials. Heavy luggage will make your ride more difficult. Also, think about what you will carry the necessary items in. We suggest a backpack or panniers for your bike.

Be prepared for possible breakdowns on the route. It is a good idea to carry the most important tools for a quick fix, such as inner tubes or patches, a pump or a multi-tool. Make sure you have enough water and food, as well as navigation equipment.

Is it looking like a warm and sunny day? Remember sunscreen and sunglasses. If you are planning sightseeing or other activities along the route, a bike lock will also be very useful. Before you leave, carefully examine your route for the trip. Consider whether your skills and equipment are adequate for the level of difficulty of the route.

    Strzyżów

The starting point is the market square in Strzyżów. Before you set off on your tour, it is worth taking a look around, as the Strzyżów market square is an example of the urban planning of a small Galician town that was once a regional centre of trade. Especially noteworthy is the 15th-century church located in the southwest corner. From the market square head east along Słowackiego Street. After 500 m at the roundabout, turn right into the 3rd exit into Mostowa Street. Before the bypass, turn left into Spółdzielcza Street. At the junction with Godowska and Modrzewiowa Streets, take the latter and turn south into Stobnicka Street. You will pass under the overpass on the bypass and enter the road leading parallel to the main buildings of Godowa village. Going straight in the general direction south, do not deviate from the road you have taken. You will make sure you are on the right track when you pass the fire station of the voluntary fire brigade in Godowa Górna. After 9 km from the start, you will notice the small parish church in Żyznów, a former Uniate tserkva. Turn right next to it. After 400 m, turn right again and after another 200 m turn left, following the signpost to Bonarówka. You will pass through the forest on Wiśna Góra and then descend to Bonarówka. There you will pass a magnificent wooden tserkva, it is worth stopping by. After 2.3 km, turn left. Through forests and sparsely scattered farms, you will reach Wysoka Strzyżowska.

On entering the village, turn left, south. At the fork at the end of the road, take the right-hand side, and at the junction, 200 m further on, take the left-hand side. At the terminus with the bus stop, turn right onto the gravel road. Follow it through the forest to Rzepnik. At the end of the road, you will pass the Uniate cemetery, and just behind it, you will notice a brick tserkva standing next to a magnificent oak named Jagiellon. The temple, dating from 1912, is now a Roman Catholic church, but the features of the eastern sacred architecture have been preserved. The oak, on the other hand, is more than 450 years old! From the church, set off in a northwestern direction. You will pass through Pietrusza Wola, with the large forest complex of the Czarnorzeki-Strzyżów Landscape Park on your right. Turn right 3.5 km past the tserkva onto a narrow side road. Continue ahead, meandering along its course to turn right at the end. After another 1.6 km, you will reach a crossroads, at which keep left. Then, along the edge of a small forest, you will reach another bifurcation, this time take the right-hand exit. You will leave in Łęki Strzyżowskie by a small cottage chapel. Head south along the main road, passing a school, a characteristic crossroads and a church. Pass the fire station in Łęki Jagiellońskie so that it is on your left. Less than 2 km further on, you will pass a large chapel and, a moment later, the fire station of the Voluntary Fire Brigade in Wojkówka. Keep to the main road, which will take you to Bratkówka. Having left the village along Kościuszki Street, you will reach Odrzykoń.

At the first intersection in the village, turn left into Panasia Street. At the bifurcation, turn right along this street, reaching the roundabout where Panasia, Jana Pawła II, Jagiełły and Krośnieńska streets meet, built next to the community centre. Turn into the last one and go straight for 2.3 km. Then turn right into Hetmana Kamienieckiego Street and after 300m turn left into Łąkowa Street. Continue ahead, passing the fire station. Half a kilometre past the fire station is a junction on a curve in the road, keep right. You will pass industrial plants, a school and the Korczyna stadium. Follow the road along Spółdzielcza Street. You will reach the market square and the church, the sanctuary of St. Bishop Józef Sebastian Pelczar. It is a beautiful temple, well worth a visit. From the village, go north along Pelczara Street (the route of regional road no. 991). From there, turn right onto Zawiśle Street. More than 3 km of asphalt road will lead you, meandering past buildings and wooded areas, to a hill with an observation tower. It is worth resting there after a tiring ascent. Then, through the Sokoli Grzbiet hill, you will reach the village of Czarnorzeki. At the small church, turn left; a gentle descent will take you to the community centre. You might consider visiting the Prządki rock reserve a bit to the south. From the cultural centre, continue north along regional road no. 991, then turn left at a fork in the forest where there is a small cross. You will pass through the village of Węglówka. A bit past the school, you will find a place to rest under the Poganin Oak, one of the largest oaks in the Podkarpackie region, standing next to a very nicely preserved tserkva. The nearby grave of Admiral Nelson is also worth a visit! However, it is not the resting place of a famous sailor, but a souvenir of an oil prospector. Continuing, you will reach Wysoka Strzyżowska.

Drive through the village this time without turning onto side roads. Take a moment to stop at the neo-Gothic Church of St. Joseph. Then 600 m past the school, turn right into a small lane just after a curve in the main road, and at the bifurcation keep left. This will lead you into the village of Gbiska. You will make sure you are on the right path when you pass the fire station. Take Batalionów Chłopskich street to reach the Strzyżów bypass. At the roundabout, take the second exit, into Południowa Street, and turn sharply left at the end. Having crossed the bridge over the Wisłok River, you will reach the roundabout with which you are already familiar, take the 3rd exit to the left and Słowackiego Street will lead you to the market square.
