About this route
Completing this route is an opportunity to see Rzeszów from a slightly different perspective. Although you will travel the entire route on asphalt roads, the traffic there is negligible. The whole route leads through bicycle paths, so it will be suitable and safe also for children. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities to take a break, like on the beach at the Żwirownia or while walking through the reserve. It is worth taking a few minutes to reach them.
Practical advices
Although this route is not demanding, it is worth preparing for it properly, so that nothing surprises you at any point. Start with the most important thing, which is your helmet. A good helmet is essential for your safety. Take care also of proper lighting, both front and rear. In addition to bike lights, equip your bike with reflectors so that you are highly visible on the road.
What else is worth taking with you on a trip? Make sure to pack a sweatshirt or a rail jacket in your backpack, in case the weather changes. It is also a good idea to bring snacks to give you energy during the trip. Protein bars or energy mousses work well.
If you plan to take visit the attractions along the route, you will need to leave your bike behind in some places. To make sure it is still there after the tour, be sure to bring a bike safety device such as a U-Lock or any bicycle lock.

Start your tour at the Podpromie Hall, right next to the Zamkowy Bridge. Here you will find a large car park where you can leave your car free of charge. Head north and follow the cycle path along the Wisłok River. On the way, you will pass the Old Cemetery.
Established in 1792, this structure is one of the oldest necropolises in Rzeszów. Officially, the cemetery functioned until 1910, although unofficially, sometime after that year, the dead were still buried there. In 1968, it was declared a monument. The area of the necropolis, which is the eternal resting place of over 600 people, stretches from Targowa Street towards the boulevards. On the gravestones, you can find the names of former mayors, councillors and November and January insurgents.

At Lwowski Bridge, cross to the other bank of the Wisłok River. Drive to Narutowicza Bridge and exit the bridge, turning into Podwisłocze Street.

Drive along Podwisłocze Street to the Karpacki Bridge. At the intersection with Powstańców Warszawy Avenue cross the road.

While on the avenue, reach the Karpacki Bridge. The bridge also serves as a dam with a hydroelectric power station. Before the bridge, turn left into a path along the river. Here you will see the signposts for the East of Poland Cycling Trail Green Velo.

Żwirownia is a place located in the southern part of Rzeszów. Here you will find a popular summer swimming area and water equipment rental. A playground awaits younger children here, and a beach volleyball court for older ones. Along the reservoir, there are many benches and places to rest. Follow the same path back to the Karpacki Bridge.

Cross the Karpacki Bridge to the left bank of the Wisłok River. Then follow the cycle path.

In the vicinity of the Rzeszów Reservoir is the Lisia Góra Nature Reserve. The site is located on a loess hill, reaching about 200 m above sea level, and covers just over 8 hectares. The area has been under protection since 1998. A distinctive feature is that it has the largest concentration of pedunculate oaks in the region. However, these are not the only trees growing in the area. Maples,
poplars and elm trees can also be found there. There are also other protected plants, such as common ivy, primrose and periwinkle. In addition, the reserve is rich in fauna, birds, amphibians and reptiles. You may come across a fire-bellied toad, a coot, a hedgehog or even a bat.

When you reach Jarowa Street, turn around and follow the same road to the Karpacki Bridge. Then pass under it to the other side.

The area between the Zamkowy Bridge and the Karpacki Bridge is Rzeszów's largest park, where there is something for everyone. The wide trails allow comfortable strolls surrounded by nature, and the birds will certainly be of interest to ornithologists. The park also provides a natural "safety net" for the city in case of flooding. If you plan the date of your trip well, there is a good chance that you will come across one of the events that are often organized in that area.
