About this route
The short and easy route starts in the heart of the Cieszanów commune. It runs on flat terrain. You will cover the distance of almost 16 km in about 2 h. It may take another 2 hours to enjoy the attractions available along the way. As part of the trip, you can visit the borderland town of Cieszanów, the Sport-Recreational Centre “Wędrowiec” or the wooden tserkva in Dachnów.
The loop from Cieszanów through the plains of Roztocze will be suitable for anyone who has not cycled much so far. The tour is short and undemanding. It will be suitable for both amateurs and children. All the more so as it combines a gentle ride with sightseeing.
Nevertheless, remember not to underestimate the preparation for the road. Equip your bike with ample lighting (front and rear lights), a bidon and safety gear if you plan to visit attractions or make other longer stops along the route.
Practical advices
Although this route is not demanding, it is worth preparing for it properly, so that nothing surprises you at any point. Start with the most important thing, which is your helmet. A good helmet is essential for your safety. Take care also of proper lighting, both front and rear. In addition to bike lights, equip your bike with reflectors so that you are highly visible on the road.
What else is worth taking with you on a trip? Make sure to pack a sweatshirt or a rail jacket in your backpack, in case the weather changes. It is also a good idea to bring snacks to give you energy during the trip. Protein bars or energy mousses work well.
If you plan to take visit the attractions along the route, you will need to leave your bike behind in some places. To make sure it is still there after the tour, be sure to bring a bike safety device such as a U-Lock or any bicycle lock.

You start the route in Cieszanów. If you arrive at the starting point by car, you can park it at the market square.
The other option is to reach the area by train. However, consider that the nearest train station is in Lubaczów, about 10 km from Cieszanów.
Cieszanów is a small borderland town. Its origins date back to the 16th century. You will find several historical buildings here, such as:
- Tserkva of St. George. This brick Greek Catholic temple was built in the early 20th century. After the war, it ceased to serve as a place of worship. It was used as a warehouse for a while, but then it deteriorated. In 2015, a concert and exhibition centre was built here. After renovation, valuable polychromes by Grzegorz Kuźniewicz were discovered. They decorate the interior of the building.
- Former synagogue (now a daycare centre for senior citizens).
- The Sport-Recreational Centre "Wędrowiec” (located by a lagoon). Here you will find a sandy beach, swimming equipment rental, a tyrolean, sports fields and a children's playground.
You will reach "Wędrowiec” by heading east along Mickiewicza Street. After passing it, follow the signs of the brown cycle trail and then turn south.

Along the way, you will come across the stone Brusno crosses, which are a characteristic feature of the landscape of this region. As you leave Nowe Sioło, the asphalt surface will turn into gravel. Travelling through farmland, you will reach the village of Dachnów.

The wooden tserkva of the Holy Cross has been preserved in the village. This temple dates from the first half of the 17th century. The building has been renovated and adapted for cultural purposes. Exhibitions and concerts are held here.
From Dachnów, the trail bends north and heads through fields towards Cieszanów.
