About this route

If you're looking for a short, undemanding route, you've come to the right place. Since the entire trip will take you along asphalt roads, you will not be surprised by the difficult terrain. Begin at the church in Łęki Dukielskie. The remainder of the route will take you through the surrounding villages and forests, where historic churches await your discovery. The route follows the "Beskidzkie Muzea" cycle trail, which is not always well-marked. However, the route is easy to navigate.

Practical advices

Although this route is not demanding, it is worth preparing for it properly, so that nothing surprises you at any point. Start with the most important thing, which is your helmet. A good helmet is essential for your safety. Take care also of proper lighting, both front and rear. In addition to bike lights, equip your bike with reflectors so that you are highly visible on the road.

 

What else is worth taking with you on a trip? Make sure to pack a sweatshirt or a rail jacket in your backpack, in case the weather changes. It is also a good idea to bring snacks to give you energy during the trip. Protein bars or energy mousses work well.

 

If you plan to take visit the attractions along the route, you will need to leave your bike behind in some places. To make sure it is still there after the tour, be sure to bring a bike safety device such as a U-Lock or any bicycle lock.

    This is the village where your tour starts. You can leave your car at the car park by the church in Łęki Dukielskie. Head towards Kobylany and turn right at the crossroads.

    The Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Kobylany is worth seeing. 

    The building has baroque elements. It was built in 1775. Next to the church, you can stop at the monument "Cześć poległym" commemorating the villagers who died in 1914-1920. Now drive in the direction of Chorkówka.

    This is the church that could be seen from afar. The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built according to a design by Theodor Talowski. It was built between 1905 and 1908 and is an example of the neo-Gothic style. To reach the next point, turn right at the diverge of the roads and after leaving Bóbrka, follow the main road for over 1 km.

    The Ignacy Łukasiewicz Museum covers an area of around 20 ha, where visitors can see forges, drilling rigs, shafts and oil installations, among other things. It was in Bóbrka that the world's first oil mine was established in 1854. Furthermore, between 1854 and 1880, more than 60 shafts were built. Two of them are still operational to this day. A tour of the site takes about 2 hours. The museum is closed on Mondays. A normal ticket costs 25 PLN, while a reduced ticket costs 15 PLN. Detailed opening hours can be found on the museum's website. To get to Wietrzno, go right at the crossroads and at the main diverge of the roads in Wietrzno take the third side branch to the right.

    This wooden church, which you will see just after the divergence of the roads, was built in 1752. It was repaired several times, including in 1906, the 1980s, and the first decade of the twenty-first century. Inside the church, you can admire figural and ornamental polychromes from 1880. You'll get to the next village via a rather scenic part of the route, during which you will get to see, among other things, massive windmill farms. Follow the blue cycle trail back to the starting point.
