Example of urban planning in a Galician town

The market square in Brzozów

Another example of architecture and urban planning of a small town in the Podkarpacie region, excellently preserved for almost 600 years. The market square was marked out during the town's foundation in the late 16th century. It is situated on a gentle slope, with a dozen or so townhouses built around it. The most impressive ones are located in the southwestern frontage. Wide, two-story, neoclassical buildings are gems of 19th-century architecture, as is the Town Hall (currently housing the museum), located in the middle of the square.
