Zabłocie Nature Reserve
Forest and wetland ecosystem protection
Zabłocie Nature Reserve
The protection of the ecosystem of the forest complex between Głogów Małopolski and Kolbuszowa was behind the decision to create a nature reserve here in 1999. It covers almost 550 hectares of forests and wetlands. Particularly protected in this area are rare species of birds and plants, characteristic of the Sandomierz Forest, within which these forests are located. Black storks, eagles, grebes, coots, wild geese, blindworms and numerous species of frogs and toads can be found here, as well as deers and small predators such as badgers and raccoons. Elk and wolves are also rarely seen here.
