The House of Our Lady of Czudec

The House of Our Lady of Czudec

The characteristically Baroque church protects the miraculous image of Our Lady of Grace, otherwise known as Czudecka. The temple was built at the beginning of the 18th century and was a votive offering of the town’s owner for healing. Surrounded by a wall with a Baroque gate, the temple presents itself magni`icently, with a wide façade and a tall tower with an extended helmet. A window with a pseudo-balloon is placed above the entrance. The interior is spacious, with three naves, part of the side aisles being occupied by chapels, including a chapel with a miraculous painting. The long presbytery, culminating in the main altar, is white with gilding. Side altars in the nave in a similar style, plus two altars on the blank walls of the side aisles, also richly decorated. It is worth paying attention to the elaborately made confessionals.
