Town square with a renaissance urban layout

The market square in Głogów Małopolski

A wonderful example of the market square of a small Galician town with a frontage surrounded by low-rise residential and commercial buildings. The urban layout of the town centre has been preserved almost perfectly since its foundation in 1570. The streets running through the middle of the square are the so-called cross streets, which are the axes of the town. In the large square in the middle, there is the Town Hall from the 18th century, with a small clock tower, built by the Pallottines. Most of the 54 townhouses in the frontage were built in the 19th and 20th centuries and display the art nouveau style. The northern part of the square is dominated by the massive Church of the Holy Trinity. The square, much of which is covered with lawns and flowerbeds, also features 6 monuments.

In the background, the bright building of the town hall with a clock tower, in front of it an asphalt road, cars, a riding cyclist in a black sports outfit and a helmet, and a tree
