In memory of the great stage designer

Tadeusz Kantor Museum in Wielopole Skrzyńskie

The birthplace of the eminent artist Tadeusz Kantor, the former vicarage, was transformed into a museum of the artist in 2006, as an extension of the museum chamber that had been operating here for 10 years. The building acquired its current appearance in 2019. The neat building, in the style of a Polish manor house, houses surviving mementoes of Tadeusz Kantor’s work. Given his significant contribution to Polish theatre, the reconstructed pieces of stage sets that he built for numerous performances, including “Wielopole, Wielopole,” which were based on autobiographical themes, are extremely valuable. The museum is multimedia and is not only a centre of local culture, but is also important on a national scale.
