Baroque church with a richly decorated interior
Roman Catholic Church of St. Onuphrius the Hermit in Łąka
The parish in Łąka dates back to 1409 when a vicarage was established and the first wooden church was built. This church lasted almost 300 years, only to be replaced by a smaller chapel, which was gradually expanded over time. The current temple was constructed in stages during the first half of the 18th century. The result is an oriented church with distinct Baroque features, a single-nave design with a defined presbytery, and a simple gable roof. While the exterior plasterwork is modest, the interior is richly decorated. The green and gold main altar, along with the two side altars of matching colours, harmonizes with the pulpit and baptismal font attached to the rood screen. The walls and vaults are covered with figurative and floral frescoes. A brick bell tower with a four-sided roof is located in the southeast corner.
