Museum of scarecrows and schoolbooks

Regional Museum in Sołonka

The small local museum dates back to the late 1990s, when a history teacher, Aleksander Bielenia, founded a museum chamber in Lubenia, which after a few years was moved to Sołonka, to a building that had once served as a primary school. The 4 exhibition rooms present: school books from the 19th and 20th centuries and school objects, scarecrows (unique in the country!), archaeology and geology of the region, with Palaeolithic and Mesolithic artefacts, and ethnography - tools, utensils, household equipment and other objects of everyday use. Also of interest are the remains of a salt well from the 16th century.
