Open-air museum Zagroda in Markowa
Remembrance of a wealthy village
Open-air museum Zagroda in Markowa
There is also an open-air ethnographic museum near the museum, which opened in 1985. It preserves the memory and remnants of the past of the village of Markowa; a wealthy and thriving village where even a local newspaper came out. Visitors can admire buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries: a cottage, stables, granary, pigsty, barn, windmill, blacksmith's shop and folk school, as well as household equipment and farming tools used by peasants in the past. A separate part of the exhibition is a `ire exhibition.
