What drove the countryside

Museum of Stationary Engines and Agricultural Technology in Konieczkowa

The mechanisation of agriculture in Poland began precisely with stationary engines, not tractors. Stationary steam and internal combustion engines gave drive to agricultural machinery, which increased the pace of work and improved food processing technology. The collection of the museum, founded in 2016, includes 110 engines of 60 makes. Some of the oldest were produced at the end of the 19th century, and the newer ones were made in the interwar period. Most of them are in working order, and the ambition of the management is to bring all those in possession into working order. In addition to the machines, other objects and everyday machines are also kept and exhibited.
