Market Square in Ropczyce

The market square in Ropczyce is bisected by what was once the main route between Kraków and Lviv. Its approximate dimensions are 110 by 110 metres, but the regularity of the square outline was disrupted over centuries of development. The northern frontage is formed by the wall of the east-oriented church, while the remaining are 19th and 20th-century townhouses. The square currently serves a representational role – with monuments, fountains, and recreational areas. Along its sides, there are numerous service establishments and shops from various industries.
