Church of St. Sebastian in Kosina
An example of the Lemko-Highlander style of sacral architecture
Church of St. Sebastian in Kosina
The church built in 1737 in Kosina was intended to be a branch church of the local parish, hence it took the unimpressive form of a small wooden church. The style of the church can be described as Lemko-Highlander, with a gabled, steep roof over the chancel and nave, and a similar one on the vestibule. A small gate bell tower was built in 1872. The interior of the church impresses more than the shingled façade, especially with the beautiful 17th-century Mannerist altar in blue and gold, with a central painting of the patron saint, as well as the Baroque cupboard in the sacristy and the Rococo baptismal font.
