Renaissance pearl with multicultural gardens

Castle in Baranów Sandomierski

The most renowned monument of Baranów Sandomierski is the castle. This beautiful, late Renaissance complex, built at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, captivates with its undeniable charm. A two-story palace with towers in each corner was erected on a rectangular plan. The courtyard on three sides is surrounded by two-story arcaded cloisters with cross vaulting. The interiors of the palace hide breathtaking polychromies and stucco work. Elaborate attics conceal the roof, visually elevating the entire structure. Among the owners of this beautiful place were the Lubomirski, Wiśniowiecki, and Leszczyński families. Surrounding the park, a French-style geometric garden and an Italian-English style park were established.
