Birthplace of Ignacy Łukasiewicz

Few figures in Polish history compare to Ignacy Łukasiewicz – a pioneer of the petrochemical industry. We all benefit from his legacy today, even though the oil industry in Poland did not develop significantly due to a lack of abundant raw material sources. The inventor was born in Zaduszniki on the Vistula, in a noble family of Armenian roots with patriotic traditions. His birthplace is marked by a plaque attached to a fragment of the wall of the house where he was born.
