Historical, unique Greek-Catholic cemetery in Stare Brusno
Although no one famous is buried in the necropolis of Brusno, it is one of the most interesting cemeteries in Poland. It was established at the end of the 18th century when a prohibition on burying the dead near temples was introduced and functioned until 1940, when Brusno became a German colony. The sandstone gravestones in the form of crosses with bases, with inscriptions in Ruthenian, in a style called "Brusno", are characteristic of this cemetery. Some of the graves have intricately carved figures and bas-reliefs. The highest number of the 250 are those made in the early 20th century. Evangelical burials with inscriptions in German can also be found there.
