A testimony to the city's multicultural past

Church in Lubaczów

Evidence of Lubaczów's multicultural past, inhabited by Poles, Ruthenians, Jews, and other nationalities, is the Greek Catholic church, located in close proximity to the market and next to the cathedral. It was built in 1883 as an eclectic building, combining various architectural styles. It is a temple oriented to the east, with a clearly separated porch, main and side aisles, and a presbytery. At the intersection of the main nave and transept, a massive dome was erected on a round drum. Delicate stucco decorates the connection of the roof to the walls. Inside there are figural polychromes and an iconostasis with royal gates. The latter comes from the liquidated church in Niemstów. In front of the temple is a screen bell tower without bells. The temple is used for religious purposes.
