Wooden Church of St. Margaret in Targowiska
Interesting two-storey church
Wooden Church of St. Margaret in Targowiska
The temple was founded by the owners of the village, the Baranowski family, between 1736 and 1740, and consecrated 8 years later. The materials of the previous church were used in its construction, on which the cachets, signs of consecration, have been preserved to this day. It was a wooden building with a single-nave structure, built on a cruciform plan. Today, it has a 2-metre high foundation, making it a two-storey church, with the main altar occupying the height of both storeys and the side altars located on the higher one. The decor is Baroque, with an elaborate main altar dating from 1750 and numerous wall and ceiling paintings.
