Polish La Salette

A tall, soaring church with a façade with three towers and concrete slats between them

Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Salette in Dębowiec

The temple in Dębowiec is home to the Weeping Madonna of La Salette, a copy of the miraculous statue from the French shrine, set in the side chapel of the church. It is 130 cm high and was made between 1959 and 1960. The temple has an interesting history; it was consecrated in 1941, during World War II, and destroyed by Soviet aviation just 3 years later. Re-consecration under the enclosure took place in 1966. The church was built in the Baroque style with a modernist facade with 3 towers and concrete mouldings between them. All the furnishings were likewise kept in the same style. The presbytery has a separate niche for the altar with a large statue of Mary and a relief of the Last Supper.
