The place of birth of Polish skiing

Ski Museum in Cieklin

The Stanisław Barabas Museum was established in 2008 through the efforts of the commune authorities of Dębowiec. It commemorates the revival and development of skiing in the Polish lands at the end of the 19th century. Ski and skiing equipment are stored and presented in the museum, showing technical and cultural changes in the sport. The oldest exhibits date back to 1917. Apart from the permanent exhibition on skiing, the museum also organises temporary exhibitions on various subjects.
