Monastery of the sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth (Sisters of Nazareth) in Komańcza

The monastery was founded here in 1928, but its own building was acquired only a year later. It was constructed as a two-story masonry residence, clad with boards in the distinctive Swiss mountain style popular in numerous European resorts. The building boasts a wide front with doors shaded by a balcony supported on seven columns. Each floor has a front balcony and side balconies. From 1955 to 1956, the building served as the place of internment for Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński during the period of heightened ideological conflict between the communist authorities and the Catholic Church.
