Manor in Krościenko Wyżne

The manorial estate in Krościenko Wyżne is a classic Polish single-storey manor house with an attic, a symmetrical structure with a portico in the centre, supported by four Doric columns. The back of the manor opens to a small pond, surrounded by trees that are remnants of the original park layout. After being renovated from a state of ruin due to vandalism and neglect, the manor now serves as a hotel and restaurant. The manor was owned by Aleksander Fredro, a famous poet, brought as a dowry by his wife Zofia from the Jabłonowski family. It is believed that Fredro wrote his famous play „Zemsta" here, drawing inspiration from the story of a feud between the owners of the castle in nearby Odrzykoń.
