Former Greek Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Szczawne

A small church standing on the hillside in the village of Szczawne is one of the few still used by Orthodox believers, not converted to Roman Catholicism. It was built in 1889, erected on a stone foundation with a timber frame and cladding. It is divided into three parts, each topped with a dome. Next to the church, there is a wooden bell tower with a pillar structure. The interior contains a complete iconostasis and 19th- and 20th-century polychrome of both figurative and geometric-floral character.
