The largest water dam in Poland

Water dam on the San in Solina

One of the most famous attractions in the Podkarpacie region was built between 1961 and 1968, based on an idea put forward 40 years earlier. This structure consists of a concrete dam, 82 m high and 664 m long, and a pumped storage hydropower power station integrated into it. The dam holds back almost 0.5 billion m3 of water. The dam can be admired from the side of the lake and while walking along the crest, however, a tour of the hydropower power station is also possible. At night, the dam is illuminated and giant animal drawings can be seen on the escarpment on the power station side. In 2022, the most modern gondola railway in Poland opened here, allowing you to discover the place anew.
