The beautiful interior of an old church

Wooden tserkva of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Łuczyce

This is a 19th-century Greek Catholic church from the Podkarpackie region, well worth a visit. Its history is consistent with the area; it was built in the mid-19th century and was abandoned from 1947 to 1991. Then in the 1990s, it was renovated and its cult function was restored. It is a massive tripartite building with small domes on top of the roof. Its beauty lies in the interior; icons written in the 19th century with very vivid colours and a painting in the chancel, visible behind the Tsarist door, harmonizing with the light colour of the wood to create a warm atmosphere conducive to reverie.
