Tserkva of St George in Jurowce
Tserkva with an unusual belfry
Tserkva of St George in Jurowce
The construction of the temple was completed in 1873, as a wooden building with features of eastern sacred architecture. The church is traditionally tripartite, with prominent domes over the women's gallery, nave and chancel, set on large drums. The facade is made of vertical boards, while the roof is covered with metal. Unfortunately, nothing remains of the original furnishings, used before the church was taken over by the Catholic Church, except for two icons on the side altar. However, it is worth paying attention to the Baroque main altar with wings, masterpieces of woodcarving art. The brick screen belfry with 3 arcades topped by small onion-shaped domes is extremely impressive.
