The Janów Forests Landscape Park

The protection of the unique nature and landscape complex of the Janów Forests, stretching on the border between the Podkarpackie and the Lubelskie regions, was entrusted to the Landscape Park established in 1984. It covers 4.000 ha, including 7 natural monuments and 6 forest and peat reserves. The forests here are for the most part untouched by humankind or reconstructed, both in terms of plant flora and animal populations. Ecological wealth is the basis for attempts to transform the landscape park into a national park.
