Roman Catholic Parish of St. Andrew Bobola in Stare Miasto near Leżajsk
The beautiful classical church of St. Andrew Bobola was a Greek Catholic church. The proportionality and beauty of this structure, based on the plan of an equilateral cross, the composition of the portico supported on 4 Doric columns, the intricacy of the architrave, and the richness of the interior in equipment and polychrome make an extraordinary impression, as does the dome erected on a massive drum. The architectural form is an expression of the search for their own style by Greek Catholics from today's Podkarpackie, who, unfortunately, were resettled after World War II to the Soviet Union. The building was erected in 1913-1916 in a place with rich sacred traditions. Inside, there are rich polychromes from the turn of the 40s and 50s of the 20th century, which covered the original paintings in the Ruthenian style.
