Roman Catholic Church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary in Wietlina
The discerning eye will notice that the current Catholic temple was originally a Greek Catholic church, converted after World War II. Indeed, this building was erected between 1818-1826, reflecting typical features of this denomination - a distinctly tripartite construction, with each segment topped by a separate roof, a polygonal drum of the main dome, and small domes over the women's gallery and sanctuary. The polygonal roofs were added during a renovation after the conversion. Worth noting is the modest yet striking Neo-Baroque stucco of the facade and the fact that it has recently become an ecumenical church.
