The birthplace of the “Devil from Łańcut”

Palace of Krasicki in Dubiecko

The oldest part of the palace was built in the 16th century, where there was once a wood-soil defensive structure. The former castle, destroyed by Tartars and fire, was renovated in the 17th century. In the 19th century, it took its present form when the residential part and the defensive tower were combined. Despite damage in subsequent wars, it has endured; first as a museum, now as a hotel. The Neo-Gothic palace has a lightweight, symmetrical form, while the Baroque castle is a typical defensive creation with battlements and a low tower. Rare tree species can be found in Palace park. It is worth mentioning that Stanisław Stadnicki, the famous "Devil from Łańcut" and Ignacy Krasicki were born here, also the Christmas carol “Bóg się rodzi” (God is Born), was created here.
