Hrebcianka Hill - Point of Resistance of the Molotov Line
The heavily forti`ied small hill near the village of Nowe Brusno was intended to be a point of long-lasting resistance that would be able to hold off an enemy attack from the northern direction. In 1940, the Soviets, with the help of forced labourers, built 6 bunkers there, including 3 for cannons and 2 for anti-tank cannons. The embrasures of the shelters covered the whole foreground; those also protected the anti-tank ditch, which ran from the southwest to the northeast and across the mine`ields in its foreground. Some of the larger shelters were three-storey, and some had wells. The defence post had its own electric generator, ventilation, heating, and plumbing. The equipment is fairly well preserved, including the armament yokes, although not all the ruins are easy to reach.
