Sightseeing with extreme caution

Fort XV Borek

It was built between 1892 and 1900, as one of the last forts of the Przemyśl Fortress. Brick walls, granite gunnels, and concrete ceilings were used to create a trapezoidal armoured fort that could withstand the gunfire of any calibre. It included all the necessary facilities for soldiers, including storage rooms, a kitchen and chambers for the wounded, and also a well. On the roof, the gun emplacements and forebays guarding the gunners are still plainly visible. During the second siege of the fortress in 1915, the fort suffered significant damage, and it was further destroyed after the war. Despite the damage, it has survived to the present day as the only armoured fort in the Przemyśl area. Extreme caution should be exercised during the tour.
