Church of St. Demetrius in Jawornik Ruski
The small church of St. Demetrius in Jawornik Ruski, built in 1882, contains key elements of church architecture. First and foremost, it is oriented to the east, in accordance with the principles of building Christian temples. Secondly, it has a three-part structure – the narthex (vestibule), the main nave, and the chancel, highlighted not only in the structure but also crowned with not so small domes. Classical equipment has also been preserved – the iconostasis and polychromes. An interesting fact is that the author of the Ukrainian anthem, Mykhailo Verbytsky, was baptized here, whose father was a parish priest here. Next to the temple, there is a three-level belfry screen, which also serves as a gate.
