Birthplace of Col. Leopold Lis-Kula in Kosina

One of the heroes of the period of the battle for independence and borders, Colonel Leopold Lis-Kula, fell at the age of 23, called by Marshal Józef Piłsudski “my brave boy”, was born on the 11th of November 1896 in a patriotic family in Kosina near Łańcut. A commemorative obelisk, unveiled in 2006, was placed on the site of the railway house, next to the railway track. It takes the form of a large erratic boulder with a commemorative plaque attached, set on a low plinth. The site is modest and out of the way, but reminds us of a man who dedicated his entire short life to the cause of Polish independence.
